Q: When is the 2013 National Race to End Women’s Cancer? A: Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 9:00 a.m. The race begins and ends at Freedom Plaza, Pennsylvania Avenue and 14th Street in Washington, DC.

Q: What is the mission of the Foundation for Women’s Cancer? Log onto www.foundationforwomenscancer.org for a look into the great work and goals of The Foundation for Women's Cancer.

Q: Are registration fees tax-deductible? A: Contributions are tax-deductible. Registration fees are not tax-deductible.

Q: May I bring my children to the event? A: Of course! We welcome families of all kinds and strollers are OK. New this year: Kids Pit Stall, with face painting, arts and crafts and fun for the little ones!

Q: May I bring my dog to the event? A: We love dogs, but discourage their presence on the race route for safety reasons. Of course, service dogs are always welcome.

Q: May I wear my inline skates or ride my scooter or skateboard on the race route? A: For safety reasons, skates, skateboards and scooters are prohibited.

Q: Where and when is packet pickup? A. Pre-race packet pick-up will be held on Saturday, November 2nd. Detailed information will be available soon. But avoid the hassle! For a $5 fee during registration, have your packet conveniently delivered to you before the race. The RACE day Pre-Race Packet Pick-Up Tent will be open at 7:00 a.m. and the official race start is 9:00 a.m. EST.

Race Route/Road Closures

Getting There:

Due to the numerous events, demonstrations and usual tourist traffic around the White House and possibly Freedom Plaza on race day, we strongly recommend using public transportation (Metro trains or buses). The nearest Metro stations are Metro Center (Red, Orange and Blue lines) and Federal Triangle (Orange and Blue lines).

Parking is available at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center, open from 5:00 am to 2:00 a.m. The all-day rate is $13. Directions here.

The race begins promptly at 9:00 a.m., with music by the Kate Moran Band and a warm welcome at 8:15 am by Foundation and race leaders, and a warmup on the plaza by race trainer Ginny Wright. See you in DC!
